Team Roles & Permissions

Control what each team member can access and do in TendSocial.

Default Roles

RoleDescription
OwnerFull access including billing. Cannot be modified.
AdminManage team, settings, and all content
ManagerApprove content, view all analytics
MemberCreate and edit own content
ViewerRead-only access

Viewing Roles

  1. Go to Settings > Company > Roles
  2. See all roles and their permissions

Creating a Custom Role

  1. Click Create Role
  2. Name your role (e.g., "Content Creator")
  3. Select permissions to grant
  4. Click Save

Editing Permissions

  1. Click on a role name
  2. Toggle permissions on/off
  3. Changes save automatically

Note: The Owner role cannot be edited or deleted.

Content

  • Create posts and campaigns
  • Edit any content
  • Delete content
  • Publish to social platforms
  • Approve pending content

Analytics

  • View dashboards
  • Export data

Team

  • Invite/remove members
  • Manage roles

Settings

  • Edit company settings
  • Access billing

Assigning Roles

  1. Go to Settings > Company > Team
  2. Click on a team member
  3. Select their role from the dropdown
  4. Click Save

Best Practices

  • Give minimum necessary permissions
  • Use "Viewer" for stakeholders who just need reports
  • Reserve "Admin" for trusted team leads
  • Create custom roles for specialized positions
